Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT):
Allogenic HSCT is the only curative treatment for children with Ph+ CML.
Long term survival is influenced by:
- The phase of the disease at time of HSCT
- Interval of diagnosis to HSCT
- Prior treatment with busulfan
- Massive splenomegaly
- Myelofibrosis
- T-cell depletion of the graft
Better outcomes for:
- Chronic phase
- Transplant within 6 months of diagnosis
