Stem Cell Transplant

Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT):

Allogenic HSCT is the only curative treatment for children with Ph+ CML.

Long term survival is influenced by:

  • The phase of the disease at time of HSCT
  • Interval of diagnosis to HSCT
  • Prior treatment with busulfan
  • Massive splenomegaly
  • Myelofibrosis
  • T-cell depletion of the graft

Better outcomes for:

  • Chronic phase
  • Transplant within 6 months of diagnosis
