Immunodeficiency

Children with congenital immunodeficiency syndromes are at increased risk of leukemia.

Immunosuppressant drugs are also associated with an increased risk of ALL (though commonest malignancy seen with these drugs is lymphoma with mature B-cell phenotype).

Low serum immunoglobulin levels have been observed in as many as 30% of newly diagnosed children with leukemia.
