Mixed Cellularity

 

Pathology

Intermediate subtype - falls between lymphocyte rich classical Hodgkin lymphoma and lymphocyte depleted. 

HRS cells and their variants are common in this subtype.

Tumor has a diffuse or only vaguely nodular pattern and lacks significant fibrosis.

Clinical Picture

Occurs in roughly 30% of patients - more common in children aged 10 years or younger.

Often presents as advanced disease with extranodal involvement.
